History

Fergy’s opened in 1990 in Media at its present location. Cheryl’s previous manager Betteann came to Fergy’s with Cheryl upon opening 20 years ago and is still employed at present.

Bette is also a graduate of Gordon Phillips and Clairol institute in NYC, and is an expert in all phases of hair care also.

Cheryl’s “different by design” logo came about in 1990. Cheryl wanted a professional salon doing expert high quality work without the attitude that other salons display.

In 1990 Fergy’s was the first totally non-smoking health related salon. The employees of Fergy’s ran the Media 5-miler and Fergy’s was one of the first sponsors and continues to be.

Cheryl wanted a salon where all clients feel comfortable and important, with no high pressure and where the stylist listens to the client.

Cheryl’s husband bought the salon prior to retiring from active law enforcement.

Betteann’s husband is still active in law-enforcement.

Fergy’s gives a discount to all active, military and law enforcement, fire fighter and EMS personnel.
